I'm back in the US.
I didn't get to go online one last time in Russia. I just ran out of money. I was buying as many souveniers and things as I could until my money ran out.
I was traveling for over 24 hours I thinks.
I'm happy to see my cats!
hmm. I was gonna say that I thought it would sound more interesting if I explained more about what I wrote last time. I walked around my island and took pictures of lenin statues and the ice on the gulf of finland. that's pretty cool. "things" sounds pretty boring. oh, and while I was at it, I stole a huge ad for gin. that's going on the wall when I go back to school.
anyway, I made it back. I'm happy to be back and kinda sad to have left also. hm.

I was lucky to not get charged for my huge monstrous bags. I was gonna argue with them if they tried, because the rules are more allowing for people who are coming off an international flight, like me. They didn't though. here's my story. listen.
I get my bags, lie to the customs agent to sneak fish and pickles into the US. I didn't try to bring more alcohol than allowed, unfortuneatly. I find my check-in place and am informed that my flight is cancelled. I can be put on a flight a couple hours later. I am utterly indifferent. I called home, but my parents had already left 20 minutes earlier and had to wait at the airport. dang.
So, I go to the different airline to check-in. I check in and await them to try to tell me my bags are too bag. They weighed them at pulkovo I believe and so I know that one is 32 kg and one is 26 kg. That's crazy, yes, but I feel better to know that I saw other, smaller bags that weighed more. But I am told to take them to screening. I do so. The people are very nice. unlike that jerk who frisked me the second time (dammit) I went through security at Frankfurt. They screen my bags. I assume I have to collect them to pay my fees, but no, I am barred off. They tell me my bags are cleared and being sent to my plane. sweet!
Let's see... there's gates A, B and C. I am at gate... T. wonderful. I chicken out of buying more yummy foods, but I do buy some american snacks that I haven't had in a long time. dr. pepper! they board the the three other flights that are at my gate at the same time as mine. mine is delayed. and then delayed some more. It was a quick fix they say that took an hour. I am not harrassed for my two huge carry-ons.
I get home and see my kitties.

reverse-culture shock. definitely real.
Maybe I shouldn't have been drinking during that lecture.
I drank a liter of honey-beer. I thought it was less alcoholic than beer! I was wrong.

Happy H, Andrew.
And, I was excited to see my kitties, too, but worried they wouldn't remember me and get scared.

But they didn't run away when I got home!
It was a happy day (besides seeing my family and stuff).
